Compact Thrash
Catches repeated context compaction in a session—a pressure signal to split work or start fresh.
Part of Behavior Guards. Thresholds are configurable in Console.
What it catches
- Compact running again and again while the agent re-reads the same material
- A context lifecycle signal—not raw tool volume
Example
A long session keeps hitting context limits: compact → lose working memory → re-ingest the same dump → compact again. Guards warn, then ask or gate further compact.
Try it
Relay → Guards → Compact Thrash — Configure thresholds; confirm nested incidents. Use Recommended Connect hooks so compact events reach Relay.
